Big project planned near SeaWorld
San Antonio Express-News
Houston-based DeAyala Properties announced its acquisition of an 80-acre site in Westover Hills that it plans to develop into an office, hotel and retail center.
The site is next to SeaWorld San Antonio and bounded by Texas 151, Ellison Drive and West Military Drive.
"The Westover Hills and northwest area of San Antonio is the fastest-growing area of the city," company President Julian "Kiki" DeAyala said in a statement, adding that the area has a large base of major employers and is surrounded by numerous national-homebuilder subdivisions.
"We see our project as a continuation of this growth and plan to build a high-quality, mixed-use development comprised of office, retail, restaurants and hospitality," he said.
DeAyala Properties has led development of the new entertainment district in Laredo, featuring the $40 million Laredo Entertainment Center — a 10,000-seat multipurpose arena — as its centerpiece.
